I got 4 of these Tenergy cells from a friend, and they are simply AMAZING!

Not only the capacity is so huge, but also I heard they are the new generation low-self-discharge, and after a few months use, I can testify that all these are TRUE!

One bad thing for me is that I do not have a good charger, my old D cell capable charger can only do 500mA, so it took a whole day and night for me to charge them, but I have never had to do the recharge often at all, it lasts so long that I feel like it is battery than those disposable duracells, although I have not done any precise measurement.

I believe my last set of duracell disposable lasted about a month or so in the baby swing set, and the tenergy lasts for well over a month in my impression, coz I only had to charge them twice so far within 4 months.

I know my AA NiMHs will dry out in 2 months even if I do not touch them, so the low self discharge seems really helped.

Combining all the facts - 10Ah huge capacity, low discharge, and rechargeable! I am sure these batteries are the best D cells I've ever used!It seems that everything one buys for a newborn requires D batteries, but most rechargeables we saw were AAs in a D shell, giving very short charge life. Not these high capacity batteries. These were certainly not cheap, but we can go weeks without replacing batteries, even in the swing, which our son spent a few weeks sleeping in overnight due to his reflux.Over three years of near-continuous use with no failures. Don't be put off by the generic name; I've been using various sizes of Tenergy batteries for five years without any going bad.

If there is one shortcoming to these batteries--and I should stress that the problem lies not only with these in particular--is that the batteries' sleeves seem destined to fail long before the conductive paste inside them ceases to hold a useful charge. Tenergy may not be as well-known as other brands, but I have been consistently pleased with their rechargeable batteries. These D cells are no exception.

During the recent east coast power outage (29 June 2012) we needed to replace a lot of batteries. My husband warned me that many of the so-called rechargeable D batteries are actually two AA batteries wearing a D cell suit, not only lacking the amperage, but also the lifespan of the real deal. So I was delighted to find Tenergy D rechargeable batteries.

Do not be tempted by the low price and comfort of the big brand names, even on Amazon. If the specs do not spell out the nature of the batteries then check the reviews. To be real D rechargeables the specs should show 10,000Ah or higher, and the batteries will weigh heavy. If the batteries feel light in your hand then they are not real Ds. These batteries just don't hold up long enough for my application. I am using them in wireless outdoor lights that run one bulb and take 4 D cells. Regular alkaline batteries will last several weeks. These only last a couple of days before needing to be recharged. I've ordered these batteries from multiple sellers. They work great when they function properly. However, out of the 20 I have purchased, 4 were dead on arrival. That's a 25% failure rate, and I would not recommend purchasing these batteries. Well packaged, quality merchandise delivered promptly. We were very pleased. You will not be disappointed. Buy this product on line save mony on gas and travel timeI bought these batteries for trail cameras, fully charged in the camera they read 10% battery life, thats right out of the charger. Cannot recommend If I can't find a charger for them that will charge all 8 in less than 24 hours (I can't), then, my feeling is that these are basically worthless to me. I bought these batteries after some hesitation due to the price. I purchased them to run in a baby swing (why don't they make these plug in?) and a few baby vibrating/bouncy chairs. With some skepticism, I popped them in when the other batteries ran out. I have twins, so these things are used quite often. The swing lasted for TWO MONTHS! The bouncy chair lasted just as long and it vibrates, plays music, has lights and is also interactive. My family and I are super impressed with these batteries. I highly recommend them. After reading the reviews I realized that the Walmart energizers are in fact AA wrapped in a D cell package. These batteries are at least three times as heavy. I use these in my Mag-lights. Previous batteries were always dead when I needed them. Not these, they are always good to go when I need them. This is overall a decent product, but charges on these blue "standard grade" batteries don't last nearly as long as Tenergy's white "premium" variety. To power two devices (a turntable and a powered speaker) that need 6 batteries each, I bought four of the white and eight of the blue. The powered speaker (with six blue cells) is constantly running out of juice. The turntable (with four white and two blue) runs like a champ for months. Significantly, when the turntable finally failed, I put all six batteries in a smart charger. The blue ones were so drained the charger wouldn't even recognize them, while the white ones still had 2/3 of a charge left!

All descriptions of these products seemed to indicate that the blue cases were merely new packaging and that the blue and white were identical underneath. Not so! The white ones are called "premium" for a reason, so pay a little extra and get a lot more life out of 'em. I purchased these batteries in 2012, and have used them for only two months, recharging each cell approximately every 2 weeks. 2 of my batteries are already completely dead and cannot be recharged.
I was counting on these to last at least a year, as they are described as being rechargeable 100's of times. Guess not. It stinks, because I live in a remote location that does not allow batteries to be shipped in the mail. It was hard to get these in the first place.
I dread the death of the rest of them. I purchased the 8 pcs of Tenergy D Size 10,000mAh High Capacity High Rate NiMH Rechargeable Batteries because my kids have a multitude of toys that require D batteries and I didn't want to have to keep buying disposable batteries every week.Although not "name brand" batteries, they have worked for me for four years.I don't know why it shows it as an eight pack, because I only purchased 2 cells, this time,as an eight battery pack yields 9.6V, it takes a 10 pack to deliver a full 12V. I usually buy batteries elsewhere but these from Amazons seller are way better. Hold a charge very very well in cold conditions. I have trail cams out all winter, just check batteries every few days these have held up since I bought them and charged them! Still haven't had to change out and its now Feb 10th.. great batteries.. I have been happy with these batteries. It is good that the batteries came pre-charge and last much longer than other batteries. The batteries are perfect for what I wanted them for. My only problem is the price tag, thus only 4 stars. They have a huge capacity, last very long, and are the perfect size to fit any "D" size battery holder. A great buy if you need a lot of power and have the budget to actually get them. I order a total of 10 D batteries, 5 of which turned out to be dead. No help from customer support. I'm going to avoid buying anything else from Tenergy as I've had trouble with their battery chargers as well. Very disappointing experience. Horrible battery life and some batteries do not charge!
What an expensive learning experience.
These D batteries can only run a radio for 40 minutes max!
$100 down the drain! I have had these batteries for about a year and use them exclusively in a LED 3D Maglite. They last quite a while and I only charge them every 6 to 8 weeks-I don't use the flashlight that much maybe about 15-25 minutes daily on average.
I charge them with a Tenergy V-9688 Super Universal Charger which charges each battery individually and seams to work fairly good.
They have one significant problem however. From being pushed together by the reasonably strong spring in the maglite their negative flat ends have been indented where the positive terminals or the spring contacts them.
They just keep getting worse. If you compare them to the USA made Duracell Alkaline D batteries, for example, this area is reinforced to prevent bending. If Tenergy just reinforced this area or thickened the tail end I would give these batteries 5 stars.
They are Made In China, so I shouldn't have expected high quality construction anyway.

I would not recommend these batteries if you have a device with a strong spring or will have them in a row pushing on each other. One charge of the Tenergy D lasts longer than the entire life of a Duracell Alkaline D. Amazing!

I run a Sony Boombox (ZS-H10CP) at max volume and with Mega Bass for fifteen hours a week, Monday thru Friday, for water aerobics classes. The Boombox has a battery charge light that starts to flicker as the batteries weaken. With Duracell Alkaline D batteries, The Light is flickering after two or three days. In contrast, to my astonishment, the Tenergy D's last the full week with no flickering whatsoever. The battery charger I use is: The Tenergy V-9688 Super Universal LCD Battery Charger with USB Port.

I had thought that negative of Rechargeables was shorter battery life. Instead, it's been just the opposite.

In addition to saving money, I've said goodbye to disposing of old batteries, ordering new batteries (from Amazon.com), opening the battery's packaging, disposing of the packaging, and making sure I have an adequate supply of batteries. This battery charger works fine, however the tenergy D size batteries do not last as long as the regular alkaline D batteries. You have to recharge after half the time of regular ones. The voltage is also not as high as the regular batteries. The baby swing does not go on high enough speed, on speed 6 it feels like speed 4.
