After four complete changes and discharges and a refresh cycle in my
nice LaCrosse charger, these have reached just over 700mAh charge. The
LaCrosse 2600 rated batteries that came with that charger have reached
2100mAh ... withour the refresh.I have a rayovak 1 hr. charger and a much slower overnight charger for
nimh batteries.. When I placed these batteries into my chargers, only 2
would charge. I contacted the company and they immediately sent me 2
more batteries. These wouldn't charge either... at first. I finally
figured out that if I completely ran them down, two more would charge.
Don't know if I'll have to do this every time or not, but I have no
problem with CVS, Duracell, or Rayovak batteries.
Yes These Batteries Did come up short on the numbers with my LaCrosse
smart charger. Yes they seem very light in comparison with Sanyo and
Duracell. Looked like another lemon. So I thought why not try them in my
Camera. A Canon S3IS. Over a two week period I took 768 pictures with a
1400 KB average size. 267 pictures used the flash. So I ordered two
more sets for $9.50 including postage. That was more pictures than I got
with my Sanyo 2750 mah batteries.
When you read bad reviews don't
always believe them. Besides some reviewers liked them. USE a Grain of
salt. From me they get 5 Stars. Will let you know if they blow up my
camera. But Don't hold your Breath.
Do NOT BUY THESE. I bought 3 pacakges for my sons and daughter for their
leapsters the batteries didn't even have a charge when I put them in
and after charging all of them they only kept the charge for about a 1/2
hour! Never again I'll stick with brands I am sure work.
- Right out of the package, the average remaining charge is just 837mAh.
This is to be expected from ordinary NiMH batteries, which may
self-discharge completely within a few months in storage.
- After the first recharge/discharge cycle, the average capacity improved to 1924mAh
-
After another FIVE more recharge/discharge cycles, the average capacity
only improved marginally to 1944mAh. The spread in capacity is between
1857mAh and 2030mAh.
For reference, I have tested dozens of
and other Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries using the same procedure.
The majority of them are measured between 2050-2150mAh, even though they
are rated for 'only' 2000mAh. So the problem is not with my setup.
Conclusion:
Those
Zerkos rechargeable batteries are marketed as 'High Capacity', yet
their measured capacity is only around 1944mAh, or 67% of the rated
capacity of 2900mAh. The manufacturer is using false advertisement to
prey on the average consumer, because most people cannot tell the true
capacity. Avoid this junk, and go with quality batteries such as Sanyo
eneloop instead.
Zeikos batteries weigh less than other AA name brand batteries, and over
rated by 2/3rd of advertised capacity, only can make 700-810ma on a
professional Maha Powerex One C9000 Charger, Analyser in the break in or
charge analyser mode.
These 2900ma batteries are NOT Suitable for Digital Cameras.
I
guess you get what you pay for. I'm going to replace these with Sanyo
Eneloop XX AA batteries that are know for their accurate capacity,
quality, weight, and longevity, and low discharge rate.First off these batteries can't even hit 700 mah no matter what charger I
use including trickle charging them. They are hunks of junk. after a
week one battery literally exploded and 3 more are buldging. If I ever
put these in my 500 mah or 700 mah charger they'd explode like dynomite.
Never Ever will I buy these again. PS - ordered mine from PlusDigUSA
but they actually came from King Camera in Monsey, NY
I've so far ordered a few packs of these batteries for my cameras. They
are not the best, because do not keep charge for a long time. Also
decharge rather quickly even without any usage. Nevertheless concerning
their price, it's still a good choice and gives you a fair service
unless you work with a charge-eater apparatus.
Bought 8ea of these with a Fenix LED Flashlight. Now I know why they
were so cheap. They would barely power my light at high for :15 minutes
or so.
I used my La Crosse BC-700, to run Tests and Refresh Cycles on
all 8 and never saw anything better than 611mAh. Most were in the 400
to 500mah range. They even weigh about half the weight of any other
"Name Brand" NiMh's I have. Beware on these..... Your time and money
will be better spent on some other batteries.....
